Les dynamiques post-productives ou rcratives qui animent dsormais les socits s'inscrivent galement dans les territoires, contribuant leur restructuration et modifier les liens qui les unissent.Suivant cette perspective, cette contribution s'intresse en particulier aux divers groupes socio-culturels qui participent la gentrification d'un certain nombre de campagnes, en France comme ailleurs.Elle s'appuie sur un ensemble de travaux (y compris ceux conduits dans le cadre de l'ANR iRGENT) inter et transnationaux (France, Royaume-Uni, Etats-Unis) en visant plusieurs objectifs.Le premier consiste intgrer une perspective critique l'analyse des recompositions sociales des espaces ruraux en recourant aux notions de gentrification rurale et de capital environnemental.Au regard de cette double approche, il est possible dans un deuxime temps de formuler une proposition thorique quelque peu htrodoxe : pour les gentrifieursses rurauxales au moins, par le biais de la circulation des capitaux et de leur investissement dans le capital environnemental qu'incarneraient les campagnes, les villes ne seraient plus que des priphries des espaces ruraux.Deux cas d'tudes trs diffrents (les campagnes anglo-galloises et l'Anjou Sud-Loire en France) viennent illustrer cette proposition.
