El programa Covid-19 Responses for Equity (CORE) fue una iniciativa de tres años financiada por el Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (IDRC) de Canadá que reunió 20 proyectos de todo el Sur Global para comprender las repercusiones socioeconómicas de la pandemia de Covid-19, mejorar las respuestas existentes y generar mejores opciones de políticas para la recuperación. La investigación abarcó 42 países de África, Asia, América Latina y Medio Oriente, y buscó comprender de qué manera la pandemia afectó a las personas y regiones más vulnerables y agravó las vulnerabilidades existentes. Los proyectos de investigación abarcaron una amplia gama de temas, incluidas las políticas macroeconómicas para el apoyo y la recuperación; el apoyo a la actividad económica esencial y la protección de las empresas informales, los pequeños productores y las mujeres trabajadoras; y la promoción de la gobernanza democrática para reforzar la rendición de cuentas, la inclusión social y el compromiso civil.
