Abstract
"Las microalgas son un conjunto de plantas unicelulares y fotosintéticas, predominantemente acuáticas,que tienen el potencial de producir biocombustibles y bioplásticos entre otros compuestos. En específico, la microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii posee la capacidad de producir almidón en diversas configuraciones y escalas incluyendo fotobiorreactores. En este artículo se describe el diseño-construcción, instrumentación y control de un fotobiorreactor cuyo objetivo es la generación de almidón a partir de la microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii con la finalidad de utilizarlo posteriormente en la producción de bolsas de un solo uso. El fotobiorreactor fue diseñado como un cuerpo cilíndrico de 16.4L equipado con un airlock, sensores de pH y temperatura, mecanismos de aireación, de ingreso de CO2, de intercambio de calor y de extracción de muestras así como tiras de luces LED. El fotobiorreactor cuenta con un sistema de control automático ON-OFF de temperatura y pH y de regulación de aireación e iluminación que fueron desarrollados en la plataforma Siemens Tia PortalV16. Al operar el fotobiorreactor por encima del 70% de su capacidad, 250C, pH=7.3, con aireación equivalente a 0.67vvm, fue posible obtener 9.2% (m/m) de almidón en la microalga."
