Abstract
O presente trabalho aborda de forma objetiva a importância dos sistemas de defensas na proteção de berços durante a atracação de embarcações. O principal objetivo desses sistemas é absorver a energia de impacto durante a amarração e manobras de reposicionamento dos navios que se aproximam do cais, contribuindo para a preservação das estruturas portuárias e a prevenção de danos materiais e humanos. O projeto estrutural das defensas leva em consideração diversos fatores, incluindo a dinâmica marítima local, como ventos, correntes, ondas e variação das marés, além de considerar aspectos operacionais, como o tamanho das embarcações e as manobras de aproximação. Este estudo concentra-se no sistema de defensas de um dos berços do Porto do Itaqui, com o objetivo de estabelecer um padrão de análise de esforço e resistência desses elementos e a energia de atracação durante a acostagem. A análise considerou normas nacionais, internacionais e características específicas do porto, como a variação das marés, tipos de embarcações e práticas de atracação. Este trabalho busca um melhor entendimento do comportamento mecânico das defensas e suas relações entre forças de reação e deslocamento em uma verificação estática, fundamentadas na análise de tensão/deformação e energia de acostagem.
