Abstract
La Cour suprême du Canada ayant déclaré contraires à la Constitution les dispositions législatives prohibant l’aide à mourir parce qu’elles avaient une portée trop large, la loi du 17 mars 2021 a élargi ces conditions en reportant toutefois la date d’application au 17 mars 2023 pour les seuls malades mentaux. Devant les difficultés soulevées pour éviter une interprétation large des critères, pouvant ouvrir la voie à des demandes fondées sur la lassitude à lutter contre des situations socio-économiques difficiles, la loi du 9 mars 2023 a prorogé ce délai jusqu’au 17 mars 2024.
