Abstract
The first part of the thesis presents e-learning "applied" to music, that is to say the EAD (Enseignement à distance) which uses the ICTT - Information and Communication Technologies for teaching, and whose we adapt the pedagogical categories and educational methods to traditional Western music education. The question is asked, "What happens when we try to combine the principles and procedures of e-learning with those of traditional Western music education?" " To answer this question, we are studying the way in which disciplines such as musical, instrumental and vocal interpretation, orchestral and choir conducting and the theoretical elements of theory, can be taught at a distance. We reserve the study and analysis of the means of distance education of the disciplines of composition and musicology and ethnomusicology to present them in the third and last part of the thesis, because of their involvement in the musical creation of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries which is itself closely linked to the practices of ICT and ICTT.The second part has two sections. The first shows how Internet users today can find and create music lessons on the internet of all categories, shapes and qualities. We address the problems of copyright and reproduction of music on the net and we examine a number of possible solutions. The second section develops the setting up of the LAMUSADI laboratory founded to experiment with the creation and realization of distance learning courses in music at the level of courses at music conservatories in Quebec. This experiment was carried out using the OPALE model from the SCENARI editorial chain of UTC (Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France).The third part of the thesis exposes the innovations in musical e-learning, that is to say the processes which deepen the concepts and systems at the basis of classical EAD which are today part of traditional musical education. Finally, this musical EAD shows how new technologies are at the origin of new aesthetics at the same time as original ways and means are opened for musical education. Thus the master-pupil relationship, which is a fundamental relationship in world musical learning, is renewed, not only in Western education, but in all educational systems of music throughout the world.
