Cet article rend compte d’une lecture, six ou sept fois reprise, de l’extraordinaire roman de Patricia Godbout, Bleu bison. Partant du principe qu’une oeuvre littéraire est faite pour être lue et qu’elle nous offre tout ce dont nous avons besoin pour l’interpréter, nous nous sommes laissé guider exclusivement par ce qui se trouve dans les pages de ce roman. D’autres démarches critiques, plus techniques, sont évidemment possibles, nécessaires même. Mais il faut commencer par lire, comme l’écrit la narratrice de Bleu bison, avec « l’attention fine à accorder à la fois au plan d’ensemble et au moindre détail » (Godbout, Bleu bison, Leméac, 2017 : 113).
