The meeting was cosponsored by the Seismological Society of Japan and cochaired by Annemarie Baltay of the U.S. Geological Survey and Hiroshi Kawase of Kyoto University. The idea for the meeting first took shape when Baltay and Kawase's avatars approached each other in the virtual networking space Gather Town during the 2021 SSA Annual Meeting at the Joyner Reception. The co‐chairss discussed the idea for this meeting and recalled noting that "ground motion's home...
