Bibliographic record
Abstract
We, the Editor and Publisher of Animal Biotechnology, have retracted the following article: Chang, C., He, X., Di, R., Wang, X., Han, M., Liang, C., & Chu, M. (2024). Thyroid transcriptomic profiling reveals the differential regulation of lncRNA and mRNA related to prolificacy in Small Tail Han sheep with FecB++ genotype. Animal Biotechnology, 35(1). https://doi.org/10.1080/10495398.2023.2254568 Following publication, concerns have been raised about the integrity of the data presented in the article. When approached for an explanation, the authors responded, however, they were unable to address the concerns raised. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore, retracting the article. The authors do not agree with the retraction. We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and the COPE guidelines. The retracted articles will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but they will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
