Resumen: La masacre de Uchuraccay ocurrido en Perú en 1983 causó una gran conmoción tanto a nivel nacional como internacional.Muchas interpretaciones se han dado al respecto.En este artículo se estudia el aspecto cultural y lingüístico de este hecho con el objetivo de dar a luz un aspecto clave que es, en nuestra opinión, el símbolo de la fragmentación de la población.Esto significa que, en Perú, no se dieron políticas, ni se han desarrollado acciones concretas, aproximadamente hasta la primera década del siglo XX, que pudieran unir a las diversas culturas y lenguas de este país.Hoy en día, el Estado reconoce que los objetivos interculturales deberían ser, a nivel nacional, los motores de todo proyecto y acción social que se emprendan para mejorar esta situación.Nosotros añadiríamos que la puesta en práctica de programas de una educación bilingüe en todas las regiones del Perú donde conviviesen varias lenguas, no solo otorgaría el reconocimiento del valor de sus existencias, sino también ayudaría a la unión de sus pobladores.
