Fermaille sait qui nous sommes » MÉLISSA LABONTÉAu printemps 2012, une mobilisation étudiante et citoyenne d'une ampleur inégalée a secoué le Québec 1 .Une foule à la fois unie et bigarrée a surgi dans les rues, semaine après semaine, brandissant en son sillage une question : « nous ? 2 » Dans un éditorial de la revue poétique et militante Fermaille, créée au cœur de ce mouvement gréviste, le « nous » se révèle dans son ambiguïté constitutive : qui est ce « nous », sinon un signe aussi évident qu'indéfinissable ?L'apparition du mot nous dans le paysage culturel et plus particulièrement dans le jardin du poétique m'a semblé tout à fait spontanée et invasive.Si bien que je me suis dit : n'est-ce pas simplement naturel, nous ?Avons-nous besoin de nous le répéter ?Nous, je veux dire : nous sommes tous ensemble dans cette histoire-là et, que nous le voulions ou non, nous n'avons naturellement pas le choix, c'est un fait indéniable et dans notre intérêt primordial, nous.[…] 1. Des parties de ce texte ont paru à l'intérieur d'un essai intitulé Faire maille : l'engagement poétique de la revue Fermaille au printemps 2012, Montréal, Éditions de l'Instant même, coll.« Trajectoire », 2017.2. Référence au nom de l'un des événements majeurs de prise de parole du printemps 2012 intitulé Nous ?, qui a eu lieu au Monument-National de midi à minuit le 7 avril 2012.Pendant 12 heures, 70 intervenantes et intervenants ont participé à un marathon de la parole et de la réflexion citoyennes.
