Le secteur de la santé mentale et des services sociaux et la prévention de la radicalisation violente au QuébecGhayDa haSSan, CéCile rouSSeau, éliSe BourGeoiS-Guérin, Marie-laure Daxhelet, SéBaStien Brouillette-alarie La radicalisation violente est un phénomène complexe dont les facteurs sécuritaires, sociopolitiques et économiques jouent un rôle central dans son ascension.Cela dit, les données sur les trajectoires des personnes ayant commis des attentats violents en Occident révèlent de plus en plus l'influence de problèmes préexistants de souffrance identitaire et psychologique ou de problèmes de santé mentale qui, combinés à une idéologie extrémiste, augmentent le risque de la violence suicidaire ou homicidaire.Ces difficultés prennent souvent racine ou s'aggravent dans les contextes sociaux polarisés où des débats autour des questions identitaires se déroulent sur fond d'altérisation -« nous » contre « eux » -, de marginalisation et de discrimination réciproques entre les groupes minoritaires et majoritaires ou dominants.Au-delà des sentiments d'horreur et de deuil, ce phénomène soulève donc d'importantes questions d'évaluation et d'intervention, particulièrement dans les domaines des services sociaux et de la santé mentale.
