Abstract
C'est un plaisir et une faveur que m'a faits France Lafleur en me demandant de préfacer l'ouvrage qu'elle coédite avec Ghislain Samson.Mais en même temps, c'est un fameux défi et une grande pression que de succéder ainsi à Tony Bates, qui préfaça en 2017 leur premier ouvrage, Formation à distance en enseignement supérieur : l'enjeu de la formation à l'enseignement (Lafleur et Samson).Si l'ouvrage de 2017 était né d'un événement strictement québécois, un colloque organisé par France Lafleur lors du Congrès de l'Association francophone pour le savoir (Acfas) à l'Université du Québec à Rimouski en 2015, celui-ci bénéficie d'un changement d'échelle : il fait suite au premier congrès mondial en sol canadien de l'International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE).Aussi, ce nouvel ouvrage collectif s'inscrit-il dans la continuité du précédent.Certains auteurs ont en effet contribué aux deux ouvrages, les titres semblent cousins et les problématiques ont un air de famille.Pourtant, les lecteurs ne s'y tromperont pas : le projet éditorial déplace progressivement le centre d'intérêt de la formation à distance vers l'apprentissage en ligne.Et la différence est importante.
