Abstract
La prevalencia y los daños del abuso sexual de niños y jóvenes por miembros de la familia y personas de confianza son asombrosos. Cuando es perpetrado por el clero también hay trauma espiritual y pérdida de la creencia en un Dios amoroso. La protección de los menores y las personas vulnerables requieren no solo políticas y protocolos, sino también una comprensión de los factores sistémicos profundos que fomentan el daño. La vulnerabilidad es una condición de la vida moral. En la Encarnación Jesucristo asume nuestra vulnerabilidad humana. Es inherente a nuestra humanidad encarnada e incrustada, única a nuestra situación, y patógena en estructuras injustas. Las respuestas al abuso deben enraizarse teológicamente e informarse mediante estudios de trauma. Estos muestran la necesidad de lidiar con la fatiga trágica y las crisis de fe. La protección de los niños y los jóvenes y la promoción de su capacidad de accion moral y resiliencia son fundamentales para el discipulado. El abuso sexual del clero requiere una teología de la infancia siguiendo las palabras y el testimonio de Jesús.
