Abstract
La manipulación en la traducción es históricamente común y presenta diversas razones ideológicas. El pensamiento decolonial es víctima del epistemicidio en diferentes ámbitos y también ha sido silenciado en el proceso de traducción. En este trabajo demuestro cómo el paradigma de la modernidad se refleja en artículos académicos y especialmente en la traducción al inglés del concepto de Sumak Kawsay/Suma Qamaña o Buen Vivir expresado en los preámbulos de las constituciones ecuatoriana y boliviana traducidas por el Instituto Max Planck. Específicamente, examino cómo la visión antropocéntrica y universalista de la modernidad empaña la postura biocéntrica y localista del pensamiento decolonial.
