A hepatite crônica associada ao acúmulo de cobre, ainda é subdiagnosticada em cães, porém, recentes descobertas relacionam sua ocorrência à mutação no gene COMMD1, responsável pelo transporte do Cu (cobre). O objetivo deste presente estudo foi realizar uma revisão sistemática dos artigos já publicados, a fim de minimizar o risco de viés de informações. A pesquisa foi realizada nas bases de dados Google Acadêmico e PubMed, com critérios de elegibilidade relacionados ao acrônimo PICO e ao período de 2014 a 2024 para seleção de artigos. A revisão sistemática é de extrema importância para avaliar a segurança e a efetividade dos trabalhos publicados sobre diversos assuntos na área da saúde, entretanto ainda é pouco realizada na medicina veterinária, sendo possível observar a necessidade de explorar a metodologia citada com foco nas enfermidades animais. Foram selecionados inicialmente 2.217 artigos, após a triagem por títulos e resumos, procedeu-se a análise de 9 trabalhos de acordo com o critério de inclusão/exclusão. Observa-se que a raça de cães Labrador Retriever evidenciou maior predisposição a hepatopatia por acúmulo de cobre. Adicionalmente, o principal exame diagnóstico foi o histopatológico hepático com coloração por rodanina. A quantidade de estudos selecionados expôs a necessidade de preencher a lacuna existente acerca deste tema, visando elucidar a hepatite crônica associada ao acúmulo de cobre.
