Abstract
Wprowadzenie Bakterie z rodzaju Enterococcus odpowiadają za prawie 10% przypadków infekcyjnego zapalenia wsierdzia (IZW), co czyni je piątą pod względem częstości przyczyną tego schorzenia. W dostępnym piśmiennictwie opisano wiele przypadków enterokokowego IZW. Cel pracy Systematyczny przegląd opisów przypadków i próba znalezienia wspólnych cech charakteryzujących IZW wywoływane przez Enterococcus faecalis. Metody W grudniu 2022 roku przeszukano bazy PubMed, EBSCO i OVID. Do ostatecznej analizy włączono 28 publikacji zawierających opisy 89 przypadków IZW, którego przyczyną był E. faecalis. Wnioski Systematyczny przegląd opisów przypadków wykazał zwiększoną śmiertelność z powodu niewydolności wielonarządowej u pacjentów ze sztucznymi zastawkami i licznymi chorobami współistniejącymi. Ponadto obecność sztucznej zastawki była powiązana z nietypowym przebiegiem IZW o etiologii E. faecalis u pacjentów. Podobnie było u pacjentów z historią nowotworową. Stwierdzono też, że IZW wywołane przez E. faecalis u osób poniżej 60. roku życia było najczęściej związane z nietypowym przebiegiem lub z manifestacją innej jednostki chorobowej.
