Le vaccin au bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) est utilisé depuis plus d'un siècle pour prévenir la tuberculose. Ce vaccin fait encore l'objet de nombreuses études épidémiologiques. Diverses sources de données sont utilisées pour définir le statut vaccinal incluant l'auto-déclaration, les registres et dossiers médicaux. Notre objectif était d'estimer la fiabilité et l'exactitude du statut vaccinal auto-rapporté et selon le carnet de vaccination, comparativement aux données du registre de vaccination BCG du Québec. Les données d'une étude cas-témoins de 2020 portant sur la vaccination BCG et l'infection au SARS-CoV-2 ont permis de comparer les informations auto-rapportées à celles du registre (n=1557). Dans une étude de cohorte en deux phases portant sur la vaccination BCG et la survenue d'asthme réalisée en 2012, les informations inscrites au carnet de vaccination et celles du registre ont été comparées (n=551). La concordance (%), le kappa de Cohen et d'autres paramètres ont été calculés. La concordance entre l'information auto-rapportée (âge moyen des répondants : 55,2 ans ; écart-type : 5,9) comparativement au registre (âge moyen à la vaccination : 3,1 ans ; écart-type : 4,5) était de 61,4 % (intervalle de confiance (IC) à 95% : 59,0–63,8%) et le coefficient Kappa était de 0,17 (IC 95% : 0,12–0,21). Pour la comparaison entre l'information inscrite au carnet de vaccination et celle du registre, la concordance était de 76,8 % (IC 95% : 73,3–80,3%) et le coefficient Kappa était de 0,53 (IC 95% : 0,46–0,60). L'utilisation d'informations auto-rapportées pour le statut vaccinal au BCG peut introduire des erreurs de mesure ayant le potentiel de biaiser les résultats. Les données inscrites au carnet de santé présentaient une concordance plus élevée mais imparfaite. L'information provenant d'un registre devrait être privilégiée dans les études portant sur la vaccination BCG.
