Avec l’émergence d'une nouvelle souche de COVID-19 et l'approche de la rentrée scolaire, il est crucial d'identifier les facteurs influençant la décision des parents concernant la vaccination de leurs enfants âgés de 5 à 17 ans. Une étude transversale a été menée en août 2023, ciblant les parents d'enfants âgés de 5 à 17 ans au Liban. Les données ont été collectées via un questionnaire comprenant des informations sociodémographiques, les connaissances sur les vaccins COVID-19, le statut de vaccination des enfants et des parents, et l’échelle des attitudes parentales envers les vaccins pour enfants (APVE). Des régressions logistiques ont été réalisées stratifiées en fonction de l’âge de l'enfant. Au total, 840 parents ont participé. La prévalence de la vaccination des enfants contre la COVID-19, était 63,4 %. Parmi les parents vaccinés contre la COVID-19, 81,6 % ont vacciné leurs enfants de 12 à 17 ans, tandis que 49,2 % ont vacciné les enfants de 5 à 11 ans. La vaccination de l'enfant était positivement corrélée avec le jeune âge, le sexe féminin, un niveau d’éducation plus élevé, une profession de la santé, des connaissances sur la COVID-19, la vaccination des parents, et une histoire préalable de la COVID-19 chez les parents. Les effets secondaires du vaccin chez les parents ont eu un effet négatif sur la vaccination des enfants, tandis que la vaccination contre la grippe chez l'enfant et des connaissances plus élevées sur la COVID-19 ont influencé positivement les deux groupes d’âge. L'impact d'APVE était significatif pour les enfants de 5 à 11 ans. L'implication des adolescents dans les décisions a impacté positivement la vaccination des enfants de 12 à 17 ans. Cette étude souligne l'importance de de concevoir des approches adaptées pour répondre aux préoccupations des parents concernant la vaccination des enfants contre la COVID- 19.
