Cet article s’appuie sur une expérience personnelle d’écriture littéraire qui se concentre sur le discours du quotidien et combine des usages utilitaires et artistiques de la langue. Elle consiste à s’approprier narrativement des formes discursives courantes telles que les modes d’emploi, les recettes, les listes, les rapports administratifs, les CV et les slogans commerciaux que l’on ne remarque plus car profondément ancrées dans la vie pratique de tous les jours. Il s’agit de soumettre ces discours infra-ordinaires à un recyclage poétique qui les défamiliarise et les présente sous un angle ludique, esthétique ou philosophique. Dans ce processus littéraire que j’appelle « haptisme » (au sens général de saisir à part, de s’y attarder et de mettre en valeur), l’intérêt ne réside pas dans un formalisme creux, mais tient plutôt à une attention citoyenne qui s’exerce dans la plus grande proximité du réel en intégrant ce discours du commun et du banal dans l’écriture elle-même, en une sorte d’hybridité entre art et non-art qui les rapproche. En conférant plus de visibilité et de sens à ces formes utilitaires de discours, le texte « haptique » fait ainsi prendre conscience de leurs valeurs sous-jacentes et de l’inconscient social qui s’y cache. Une telle décontextualisation du langage quotidien bénéficie du regard distancier et lucide de la littérature, de ses réévaluations éthiques et esthétiques, dans l’espoir (modeste) de reformuler notre manière d’habiter le monde.
