Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Classical teaching suggests that a gas bubble in a vitreous-filled eye can cause inferior traction with the formation of new retinal breaks. We demonstrate that the morphology of the inferior vitreous could remain unchanged following pneumatic retinopexy (PnR). Baseline fundus image demonstrating a superior localized rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (Fig. 1A) and an ultra-widefield optical coherence tomography (UWF-OCT) scan through inferior areas of lattice with prominent vitreous traction (Fig. 1B). Seven days following PnR with gas in the eye (Fig. 1C), a follow-up UWF-OCT scan at the same location demonstrates no substantial change to the inferior vitreous traction (Fig. 1D), possibly suggesting no detriment from the gas in this case. Prospective studies with a larger sample size are needed to confirm the impact of gas on inferior vitreous pathology in PnR. Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
