A expectativa de crescimento populacional mundial nas próximas décadas, juntamente com a concentração demográfica em áreas urbanas, tem gerado preocupações sobre a produção de alimentos e a segurança alimentar das pessoas num horizonte projetado até 2050. Nesse contexto, este artigo tem como objetivo analisar estudos anteriores que apresentam indicadores de produtividade e oferta de tecnologias de produção na bovinocultura de corte no Brasil. Adotou-se a perspectiva do Sistema Nacional de Inovação para avaliar a bovinocultura de corte brasileira, com o intuito de compreender a contribuição do Brasil, um dos maiores produtores e exportadores de carne bovina, em termos de tecnologias que possam aumentar a produtividade em um cenário de alta demanda por alimentos até 2050. O estudo identifica as limitações que precisam ser superadas para que a produção de carne bovina possa atender a essa demanda crescente. Para atingir esse objetivo, foram analisados os níveis de maturidade tecnológica do setor produtivo por meio de uma revisão de estudos anteriores. Ao final, o artigo discute ações objetivas que podem contribuir para a superação dos desafios de produção, proporcionando insights sobre como o Brasil pode se posicionar de maneira competitiva e sustentável no mercado global de carne bovina.
