Abstract
Résumé En 1975, Pasolini raconte l’arrivée imprévisible d’une nouvelle forme de fascisme par la métaphore de la disparition des lucioles. Plus de quarante ans plus tard, Georges Didi-Huberman résume ainsi son propos : « Pasolini [contrairement à Benjamin] a fini par désespérer », rangeant d’un même élan Pasolini du côté des prophètes de malheurs. Une telle lecture paraît contestable. Pour en faire la démonstration, cet article s’attarde sur la figure de Cassandre dans le Carnet de notes pour une Orestie africaine (1970), et montre de quelle manière cette antique prophétesse s’inscrit, par le montage pasolinien, dans la lignée benjaminienne de la tradition des opprimés. C’est donc l’écho d’une Cassandre euripidienne dans l’écriture pasolinienne—tous deux se présentant comme des contemporains au sens où l’entend Agamben—qui ressort au terme de l’analyse, laquelle se conclut en imaginant Pasolini en Cassandre heureuse. Ce qui revient à le réhabiliter dans le champ benjaminien de la tradition de l’organisation du pessimisme.
