Diretrizes de uso e proteção das águas subterrâneas na Bacia do Prata

Abstract
Introdução. Esta é uma revisão propositiva dedicada à temática das águas subterrâneas, componente do Programa Marco para a Gestão Sustentável dos Recursos Hídricos da Bacia do Prata. Objetivo. O plano estratégico de ação referente às águas subterrâneas abrange três diretrizes ou lineamentos essenciais, a saber: (i) a busca de utilização sustentável das águas; (ii) a proteção dos aquíferos; (iii) a implantação de mecanismos de gestão em cada país. Metodologia. A partir do referencial, foi feito um apanhado de estudos existentes no Estado de São Paulo, cujos conteúdos sejam generalizáveis para os cinco países, quanto às escalas e à abordagem, sempre respeitando as peculiaridades de cada país. Resultados. Disso resultou um mosaico de ações e projetos que, em tese, podem impulsionar a gestão integrada dos aquíferos na bacia. Ao final, são feitas algumas recomendações gerais, mas a efetividade dos projetos depende muito do envolvimento dos Estados e Municípios. Conclusão. Na execução das diretrizes, é importante contar com a participação da inteligência técnica local, por meio das universidades e institutos de pesquisa, além dos órgãos gestores de recursos hídricos. Trata-se da confluência da vontade comum dos cinco países da região.
