Full Mouth Rehabilitation By Toronto Bridge With Five-Year Follow-Up

Abstract
Toronto Bridge, includes all cases of full-arch rehabilitation with reconstruction of hard and soft tissues. This technique uses a bar on which individual crown units are cemented. This case report presents the 5-year follow -up of an edentulous patient rehabilitated with Toronto Bridge supported by 4 implants in the mandible and 4 implants in the maxilla A 55-year-old edentate woman referred to the clinic complaining about the loss of teeth, esthetic, phonetic, and functions.. After clinical and radiographic evaluation, 4 mandibular implants and 4 maxillary implants, including 2 zygomatic implants were placed. Hybrid full arch prostheses were delivered as a final prosthesis. The patient was called to the clinic for the controls every 6 months within five years. İn most cases of edentulism, anatomical limitations combined with severe resorption, do not permit conventional implant treatment. Such cases have alternative treatments such as bone grafts, while others utilize the maxillary sinus lift procedures in the posterior part of the maxilla. Disadvantages of these alternatives include the need for several surgeries and longer healing times. Another alternative is tilted implant placement in the posteriour area. İn the maxilla, zygomatic implants can also be used to decrease the number of surgeries. İn this study, because of the Class III occlusion, holes of the screws would lead to aesthetic problems. This was solved with a Toronto bridge implant supported hybrid prosthes. The application of the Toronto Bridge design resulted in the increased comfort and life quality of patient. After completion of a 5-year follow-up period, the clinical and radiologic findings were satisfactory.
