Contexte: Soixante-cinq pourcent des jeunes Québécois présentent des symptômes d’anxiété modérés à élevés, associés à des risques comme l’abus de substances, la dépression et le suicide. Les études suggèrent que les interventions d’activité physique (AP) réduisent l’anxiété chez les adultes, surtout lorsque la pratique est plus longue, modérément fréquente et peu intense. Toutefois, ces données sont limitées chez les jeunes. Objectif: Cette revue narrative recense l’effet des interventions d’AP et explore les modalités liées à une réduction des symptômes anxieux chez les jeunes. Méthode: Les études incluses devaient être en français ou en anglais, proposer une intervention d’AP pour les jeunes de 4 à 17 ans, mesurer l’anxiété avant et après l’intervention, et présenter des données originales. Sept études ont été analysées dans PsycINFO. Résultats: Six études (85,7 %) ne montrent aucun changement post-intervention pour l’anxiété, tandis qu’une (14,3 %) indique une amélioration. Cette dernière a comme modalités une durée de 60 minutes à intensité élevée, pratiquée deux à quatre fois par semaine durant 18 mois. Retombées: Cette étude souligne la nécessité de poursuivre les recherches pour confirmer l'efficacité des interventions d'AP et des modalités sur l’anxiété des jeunes, afin de les intégrer au système de santé mentale surchargé.
