Characteristics of patients meeting the components of clinical remission: CAPTAIN post hoc analysis
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Objectives: Clinical Remission (CR) is an emerging goal in asthma assessed after 52 weeks of therapy. There is evidence for CR in patients receiving biologics but data for patients on inhaled maintenance therapy is needed. This post hoc analysis of CAPTAIN assessed characteristics of patients who met CR components at Week 24 (w24). Methods: CAPTAIN compared FF/UMEC/VI vs FF/VI in adults with uncontrolled moderate–severe asthma despite ICS/LABA; history of severe exacerbation was not required in the prior year. CR was defined as no systemic corticosteroid use, no severe exacerbations, ACQ-5 ≤1.5, lung function optimisation (change in trough FEV1 ≥100mL). Characteristics of patients meeting CR components at w24 for FF/UMEC/VI 100/62.5/25µg (N=406) or 200/62.5/25µg (N=408) were assessed. Results: Patient characteristics were similar between FF/UMEC/VI doses. Those who met CR components were slightly more likely to have lower ACQ-5 scores and BMI, and <2 severe exacerbations in the year prior to randomisation (Table). Conclusions: Patients with uncontrolled moderate–severe asthma despite ICS/LABA can meet CR components at w24 with FF/UMEC/VI. Patients not meeting CR components were more likely to have worse disease control, higher BMI and history of ≥2 exacerbations (in the year prior). Early intervention and therapeutic review may be needed to ensure CR becomes embedded as a proactive goal. Funding: GSK (205715/ NCT02924688 ) erj;64/suppl_68/PA1197/F1 F1 F1

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
