Abstract
Le traducteur de chansons, notamment pop et folk, se voit tiraillé entre souci de fidélité au texte source et nécessité d’adaptation à la langue cible. La frontière entre traduction et adaptation, au demeurant peu ténue, reste sujette à débat. La traduction de chansons représente d’autant plus un défi en chinois, langue monosyllabique où le traducteur se doit de respecter la versification et la fluidité chantable. He Cheng, traductrice de Mozart, l’Opéra rock, dont il sera question ici, privilégie ainsi une traduction fluide et cohérente. Dans cet article, nous examinerons la traduction de la chanson « Penser l’impossible » en nous intéressant particulièrement aux diverses stratégies mobilisées permettent d’atteindre une adéquation prosodique, poétique et sémantique avec le texte source.
