Abstract
El presente artículo examina la historia transnacional de la prensa de liberación homosexual de la ciudad de México a finales de los años setenta y comienzos de los ochenta. Partiendo de fuentes bibliográficas, de archivo e historias orales, el artículo sostiene que esta prensa desempeñó tres tareas fundamentales dentro del movimiento de liberación. En primer lugar, fue un medio que permitió a los militantes difundir las bases teóricas de su movimiento, así como noticias concernientes a la liberación sexual y los derechos civiles de poblaciones homosexuales en distintas partes del mundo. En segundo lugar, la prensa liberacionista fue un vehículo para conectar movimientos homosexuales a nivel local, nacional e internacional. En tercer lugar, la prensa fue un medio que visualizó las experiencias y bases ideológicas de los activistas, especialmente sus políticas de izquierda y aquellas que abogaban por la liberación y celebración del cuerpo y el deseo. Además de explorar estos tres aspectos de la prensa liberacionista, el artículo sostiene también que esta historia estuvo enmarcada por un complejo entramado de diferencias de género, clase y ubicación que determinaron el surgimiento, contenido, alcance y dimisión de la prensa de liberación homosexual de la ciudad de México.
