En 2022 paraissait le premier d’une série d’articles (Antier, 2022a, 2022b, 2023) critiquant indifféremment de façon cinglante les auteurs de l’approche neurolinguistique (ANL) ainsi que leurs promoteurs, en attaquant notamment mon ouvrage sur l’ANL (Germain, 2017). Le présent article se veut une réaction personnelle à ces attaques. Je traiterai d’abord de l’adhésion sans retenue de l’auteur de cette série d’articles aux vues de Roussel et Gaonac’h (2017) au sujet de l’ANL sur la « double dissociation », sur la question de l’opposition explicite/implicite et sur l’absence de nouveauté dans l’ANL. Puis, j’aborderai les origines et les finalités de l’ANL, après quoi j’examinerai la posture épistémologique de l’auteur. Enfin, après avoir montré sa confusion des genres, je ferai ressortir l’idée que sa position anti-ANL s’explique non seulement par son adhésion aveugle aux affirmations erronées de Roussel et Gaonac’h et par son ignorance des résultats des nombreuses recherches empiriques sur l’ANL, mais aussi et surtout par un conflit d’intérêts personnel (en tant que l’un des coauteurs d’un manuel de langue) qui ne justifie en rien ses propos diffamatoires enrobés dans une rhétorique insidieuse. Je mettrai nettement l’accent sur les accusations du premier article (2022a) paru dans Recherches en didactique des langues et des cultures.
