Abstract
The proposed article describes the new acquisitions to the personal papers of the outstanding Ukrainian bibliographer Ivan Tytovych Kalynovych in the Manuscript Department of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv that his family brought from Canada. Among the newly acquired original archival materials there are two diplomatic documents issued by the government of the Western Ukrainian National Republic (ZUNR) for travel abroad (1919), a letter of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi with the terms of publication of the work “Bibliography of Ukrainian sociological and socialist literature for the years 1871–1920” (1921), the Agreement between Osyp Nazaruk on behalf of the ZUNR government and Ivan Kalynovych concerning the publication of the work “Bibliography of Ukrainian Political Literature” (1921). The attempt to investigate some little-known aspects of socio- political and bibliographic activities of Ivan Kalynovych during emigration in Vienna in 1919–1922, in particular, his relationship with Mykhailo Hrushevskyi was made. The article includes the first preliminary Inventory of the bibliographic works by Ivan Kalynovych which were acquired by the Manuscript Department of the Lviv Branch of the Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR in 1940, i.e. in the period of formation of the Library’s manuscript collection. The first processing of the bibliographer’s papers brought from Zolochiv was carried out, particularly the card index was organized in April – May, 1941. The article presents photo illustrations of some documents.
