Abstract
Le but de cette étude est d’approfondir les connaissances sur la santé du sommeil, un concept émergeant dans la littérature scientifique. Celui-ci se définit par six composantes, à savoir la satisfaction subjective, la durée du sommeil, la temporalité, la régularité, l’efficacité de sommeil et le niveau de vigilance durant l’éveil. L’objectif est de comparer la santé du sommeil avec l’insomnie en fonction de deux déterminants: l’anxiété et le soutien social. Cette étude tente de préciser si ces déterminants ont des liens similaires ou différents avec la santé du sommeil et l’insomnie. Une enquête en ligne a été réalisée auprès d’étudiants de l’Université Laval âgés de 18 à 30 ans. À l’aide de corrélations unilatérales de Pearson, une association significative entre la santé du sommeil et l’insomnie a été démontrée. Des liens significatifs ont été établis entre l’anxiété et la santé du sommeil, entre le soutien social (la satisfaction) et l’insomnie, et entre l’anxiété et l’insomnie. Le soutien social (la satisfaction) et la santé du sommeil présentent un lien significatif. Ces constats permettront de personnaliser les interventions visant l’insomnie et la santé du sommeil en se fiant aux déterminants qui semblent leur être associés de façon plus importante.
