Abstract
La plainte cognitive autrement appelée « chemobrain », a principalement été étudiée chez les patientes traitées par chimiothérapie dans le cadre d’un cancer du sein. Le chemobrain est multifactoriel. Il affecte la participation occupationnelle des patientes, en particulier les relations sociales et la reprise du travail. L’ergothérapie trouve progressivement sa place parmi les soins oncologiques de support et permet de faire le lien entre la maladie et ses effets sur la santé et la participation de la personne dans ses activités de vie quotidienne. La Mesure canadienne du rendement occupationnel (MCRO) est un outil qui permet de soutenir l’accompagnement en ergothérapie et d’objectiver l’évolution de leur participation occupationnelle. L’accompagnement d’une femme de 51 ans, Madame S., permet d’illustrer le bénéfice d’un accompagnement en ergothérapie durant son parcours de soin et l’impact de l’utilisation d’outils centrés sur l’occupation sur son sentiment de compétence. Ainsi, l’ergothérapie, discipline des soins oncologiques de support qui peut être mobilisée tout au long du parcours de soin des patientes souffrant de « chemobrain », facilite la réinsertion socio-professionnelle.
