Impacto socioeconômico da epidemia de HIV/AIDS no Brasil

Abstract
A epidemia de HIV se configura como um grave problema de saúde pública desde 1981, resultando em doenças oportunistas e altos índices de morbimortalidade. O tratamento das complicações não é mais suficiente, uma vez que gera elevados custos para o sistema de saúde. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a relação entre gastos e morbimortalidade por HIV/AIDS no Brasil, investigando seu impacto socioeconômico nas macrorregiões do país. Foi conduzido um estudo ecológico e de série temporal, analisando dados de 2012 a 2021 obtidos do Ministério da Saúde e do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE). As análises compararam macrorregiões, correções temporais e variáveis explicativas para as taxas de morbimortalidade. Os resultados indicam que as despesas do Sistema Único de Saúde com a infecção são significativas e que fatores socioeconômicos e regionais influenciam a morbimortalidade associada ao HIV/AIDS. As descobertas ressaltam a necessidade de políticas de saúde direcionadas e intervenções específicas para reduzir desigualdades no acesso aos serviços de saúde. Conclui-se que esforços coordenados e investimentos em sistemas de notificação e coleta de dados são essenciais para compreender melhor a epidemia e melhorar o bem-estar da população brasileira.
