O imunocomprometimento e a relação com o desenvolvimento da candidíase oral: uma revisão de literatura

Abstract
Este estudo revisa as estratégias de diagnóstico e manejo terapêutico da candidíase oral em pacientes imunocomprometidos, com foco nos fatores predisponentes, como HIV, quimioterapia e diabetes mellitus. A candidíase oral é uma infecção fúngica frequentemente observada em indivíduos com sistemas imunológicos comprometidos, sendo Candida albicans a principal responsável pela infecção. Embora presente na microbiota oral de indivíduos saudáveis, a proliferação excessiva desse fungo ocorre em condições de desequilíbrio imunológico, resultando em infecção. O objetivo desta pesquisa é examinar as abordagens mais recentes para o diagnóstico e tratamento da candidíase oral em pacientes imunocomprometidos, explorando a relação entre a infecção e as complicações sistêmicas, como a candidemia. A metodologia consistiu em uma revisão de literatura descritiva, com análise de artigos publicados entre 2004 e 2024 nas bases PubMed, SciELO, LILACS e Google Scholar, incluindo estudos sobre prevalência, fatores de risco, diagnóstico e opções terapêuticas. Os resultados indicam que a candidíase oral é uma das infecções mais comuns entre pacientes imunossuprimidos, especialmente aqueles com HIV/AIDS. Os tratamentos mais frequentes envolvem antifúngicos tópicos como fluconazol e nistatina, embora o aumento da resistência antifúngica seja uma preocupação crescente. Alternativas terapêuticas, como fototerapia antimicrobiana, têm mostrado eficácia, mas necessitam de mais evidências. O diagnóstico precoce e o controle das condições predisponentes são cruciais para o manejo eficaz da infecção.
