Le programme d’Élections Québec Vox populi : ta démocratie à l’école! vise à initier les élèves aux institutions démocratiques représentatives québécoises en fournissant aux écoles primaires et secondaires inscrites des ressources pédagogiques et des séances de formation concernant leurs instances participatives. Ce programme est présent dans environ 10 % des écoles québécoises, mais n’a fait l’objet d’aucune étude scientifique. La présente étude répond à ce besoin et s’efforce de dresser un portrait des perceptions des actrices et des acteurs impliqués dans les instances participatives des écoles francophones primaires et secondaires québécoises participant à Vox populi quant aux pratiques démocratiques de ces instances. Elle se base sur des sondages réalisés auprès de directions d’établissement, de responsables d’instances et d’élèves oeuvrant au sein d’écoles secondaires membres du programme Vox populi. Les analyses montrent notamment que les élèves, le personnel enseignant et les directions d’école ont généralement une perception positive de l’encadrement offert aux élèves délégués par les responsables d’instances, et de la capacité des élèves à exprimer leurs points de vue, mais jugent que la direction d’école est parfois trop peu impliquée dans le fonctionnement de l’instance.
