Abstract
Este trabalho investiga a representação visual da iconografia da Revolução dos Cravos em capas de obras de literatura para a infância e a juventude publicadas em datas comemorativas, explorando a sua evolução e impacto na perceção e valores associados à Revolução. A pesquisa responde a uma lacuna identificada na revisão de literatura: a reduzida existência de estudos consagrados em exclusivo à análise e interpretação visual de capas de literatura para a infância e a juventude. O objetivo geral deste estudo é conhecer e compreender os elementos iconográficos que remetem para a Revolução dos Cravos nas capas de obras de literatura para a infância e a juventude. A metodologia seguida é qualitativa, de natureza observacional, centrando-se na análise visual e interpretativa das capas das obras referidas. Os resultados do estudo evidenciam que à medida que a distância face ao acontecimento histórico aumenta, os símbolos da Revolução tendem a ser singelamente apresentados, permanecendo, todavia, determinados valores considerados fundacionais: a liberdade, a alegria, a democracia. A receção destes textos pelas gerações mais jovens acredita-se que as ajudará a aprender sobre o valor da liberdade, tanto em sentido literal quanto metafórico, e sobre como a organização visual pode transmitir mensagens poderosas.
