Abstract

Este artículo examina el papel de Corriente Alterna, un periódico estudiantil de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia- sede Bogotá, en el fomento de habilidades comunicativas y pensamiento crítico entre las y los estudiantes. Refundado en 2015, Corriente Alterna actúa como una plataforma que permite a los estudiantes expresar sus ideas sobre una amplia variedad de temas, desde la expresión artística hasta el análisis crítico, complementando así su formación académica. El periódico opera bajo un proceso editorial colaborativo que promueve la producción de material escrito y gráfico, resultando en 20 ediciones publicadas hasta la fecha. Esta iniciativa forma parte de un marco más amplio de grupos estudiantiles apoyados por la Dirección de Bienestar de la universidad, con el objetivo de promover el liderazgo y la organización dentro de la comunidad estudiantil. Además, Corriente Alterna ha llevado a cabo talleres de redacción en colaboración con otros proyectos editoriales, fortaleciendo el desarrollo integral de los estudiantes. Este documento destaca la importancia de Corriente Alterna como un espacio vital para la expresión y el compromiso estudiantil, contribuyendo al conocimiento colectivo y a la mejora continua de la educación en la universidad. De este modo se subraya la relevancia de las iniciativas lideradas por estudiantes en el enriquecimiento del entorno académico y en la promoción de una cultura de discurso crítico dentro de las instituciones de educación superior, en general y dentro de las facultades de ingeniería en particular.
