Lieu hautement symbolique, la salle de classe est un endroit institutionnalisé dans lequel des savoirs se développent et s’acquièrent. La transmission du savoir est une pratique universelle, qui ne prend pas systématiquement la même forme pour autant. Cet article propose une analyse de la traduction et de la localisation des séquences d’enseignement qui se déroulent à différents intervalles dans un jeu vidéo narratif qui n’a pas de visée éducative. À partir d’une analyse mixte sur les localisations du jeu de rôle japonais Persona 5 Royal (P-Studio, 2019), j’ouvre la discussion sur les enjeux sémioéthiques derrière la localisation des réseaux sémiotiques spécifiques à une culture ou à une langue donnée et sur les effets que peuvent engendrer des écarts quant à la réception et l’interprétation globale de l’oeuvre. J’aborde successivement les enjeux sémiotiques et éthiques en traduction, les spécificités ludonarratives de Persona 5 Royal et la méthodologie d’analyse avant de discuter des résultats obtenus.
