Experimental Investigation of Lock-In During Stall Flutter Forced by Transverse Harmonic Gust
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Towards modelling the aeroelastic wing-gust interaction, a gust generator was designed and constructed for a low-speed wind tunnel at the Royal Military College of Canada. The gust generator is mounted upstream of a flutter rig that consists of a rigid NACA0012 wing moving with two degrees of freedom, pitch and heave, with the latter constrained in this study. Transverse gusts were focused on in this study, although the gust apparatus can also generate other types of gusts. By employing a constant-temperature anemometer with an X-hot-wire probe, the airflow is first measured by removing the flutter rig. Mounting back the rig, the wing performed symmetric stall flutter beyond a critical airspeed. Transverse gusts mainly alter the effective angle of attack, acting as an external forcing input/driver to the plant: stall flutter in pitch. More complex gust effects appeared when coupled with the nonlinear aeroelastic system. This study reports the observations of gust-induced lock-in and amplitude beating during stall flutter, with the evolution of these phenomena predominantly influenced by the gust frequency.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
