Abstract
Climate change stands as one of the foremost public health crises, exerting unprecedented effects on both the environment and health. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are the major driver of increasing global temperatures, leading to more frequent and severe weather events (i.e., heatwaves, droughts and wildfires). Such exposures can disproportionately impact individuals with respiratory conditions, presenting growing challenges for clinicians and other healthcare providers. As global temperatures are projected to exceed pre-industrial levels by 1.5°C in 2030 and 2°C in 2050, adverse respiratory health effects will be further exacerbated.
