Abstract
Economic growth is based on a country's ability to foster long-term increases in the production of goods, with technological progress being broadly and effectively applied through innovations that promote development. Institutional and ideological adjustments are also required to ensure that innovations generated by the progressive accumulation of human knowledge lead to appropriate outcomes. The starting point for the production of goods is consumption expenditure driven by household income. Households demand goods from the market, in response to this demand, firms produce goods according to the law of supply and demand in order to set prices that satisfy both parties. Through the comparative method, supported by documentary analysis techniques, direct and participatory observation, we could demonstrate whether the economic growth achieved in the DRC during the 2013-2019 period resulted from the production of goods, whether it was real or illusory and whether it had, yes or no, benefits on the daily life of the population. The conclusion will contain suggestions for the awakening of the Congolese national economy.
