Abstract
Este estudo consiste em uma narrativa com abordagem qualitativa, que possibilitou a síntese do conhecimento por meio da análise das publicações sobre o tema onde foi abordado a promoção da saúde, destacando a Carta de Ottawa (1986), que enfatiza a importância dos fatores sociais na saúde e a participação ativa das comunidades. A pesquisa foca nas Doenças Crônicas Não Transmissíveis (DCNT), que são responsáveis por grande parte das mortes prematuras no Brasil e no mundo. A prevalência dessas doenças está associada a fatores de risco modificáveis, como tabagismo, sedentarismo e alimentação inadequada. A pesquisa destaca a importância de políticas públicas de saúde, como o Plano de Ações Estratégicas de 2011, para prevenir e controlar as DCNT, além da Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS) como pilar essencial do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). O estudo ressalta a necessidade de estratégias integradas, visando reduzir as desigualdades no acesso à saúde e promover mudanças de estilo de vida para controlar as doenças crônicas.
