Dans le contexte universitaire, les femmes courent davantage le risque de vivre une forme ou une autre de violence sexuelle. Afin de comprendre cette réalité, les autrices ont retenu l’Université de Moncton pour leur étude de cas. Ainsi, les résultats qualitatifs d’une recherche menée en 2016-2018 sur les expériences de consentement et de non-consentement d’étudiantes et d’étudiants ont été comparés à ceux des récits de l’Enquête sexualité, sécurité et interactions en milieu universitaire conduite à l’Université de Moncton en 2021-2022. Pour approfondir les parcours expérientiels des personnes visées, les autrices ont utilisé le cadre théorique de l’injustice épistémique. Leurs analyses permettent de mettre en évidence deux formes d’injustice épistémique, soit l’injustice testimoniale et l’injustice herméneutique. Les autrices proposent donc une réflexion sur la façon dont le parcours expérientiel est touché par l’une ou l’autre forme, ce qui permettra de rendre visible, à travers le discours des répondantes et des répondants, le rôle des institutions dans la réification de situations injustes.
