Abstract

The article is considered important work–articles, chapters and paragraphs of prof. O. Shabliy’s monographs, textbooks about the methodological, metatheoretical, basical theoretical and methodical problems of Human Geography (HG). They are grouped as follows. The characteristics of Professor O. Shabliy as a scientist-geographer and teacher. The main achievements in scientifi c-research activities are defi ned. Contribution to the Human Geography and Cartography is described. O. Shabliy’s сhronology and khorology for 85 years, especially the last 65 years of his studies and work at Lviv University is presented here. Most of his life O.I Shabli spent at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv: first as a student and senior laboratory assistant, associate professor and professor. The head of the department O.I Shabli became in 1990 and during this time brought up more than one generation of Ukrainian geographers. Under his supervision, doctoral and candidate dissertations were defended. Oleg Ivanovich was able to organize the staff of the department, which continues to support the scientific traditions of the University, Faculty of Geography and the Department of Economic and Social Geography. Analyzed covers publications of metatheoretical and gnoseological nature. These are the problems of object and subject of Human Geographical research, structure, space and spatial relationships, semiotic aspects of research. Particular attention is paid to new branches and directions of research of Human Geography: geoecology, geopolitics, sacred, medical and recreational geography, ethnogeography etc. The articles of geopoetics are submitted. Articles of the problems of terminology and conceptual-categorial systems in the HG are published. The question of the main concept of HG is debated. The scientist introduced a new concept of geospacethorium. The HG laws and regularities, its modern theories and concepts are considered, in particular the problem of geospatial organization of the information society. The lighting is revealed chapter includes historical features defi ning of HG all over the world and in Ukraine. Attention is paid to development the Human-Geographical School of Lviv. The highlights the contribution to HG of representers of Lviv school: Hryhoriy Velychko, Stepan Rudnytskyi, Volodymyr Kubiyovych, Maxym Palamarchuk, Opanas Vashchenko, Fedir Zastavnyi etc. The article is presented articles of author about training and publication of atlases (National, “Complex Atlas of Ukraine”) and maps. Analyzed dedicated the methods and methodolodicsies of the HG. The classifi cation of methods consists of three groups – philosophical principles, general scientifi c methods, specifi cally scientifi c methods. The newest general scientifi c methods of mental maps, SWOT and kontent-analysis, neural networks are describe.Geography, as a Human Geography, exists and will progres in the scientific human space. It will continue to function in a spiritual environment, created by scientists for themselves and for created perrsonalities. Over 65 years of working at Lviv University gave Professor Oleh Shabliy the opportunity to enter this a fundamental community of Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Austrian, Germany, Canada, and others. This happened mainly in the last 20 – 25 result years. The result of this process was an award to Professor Oleh Shabliy the Ivan Franco International Prise.
