Este estudo analisa os impactos da pandemia nas práticas docentes do ensino superior, com ênfase na ascensão do ensino a distância (EAD) como alternativa ao modelo presencial. A pesquisa adota uma abordagem qualitativa e revisão bibliográfica para explorar os desafios enfrentados pelos professores e as estratégias de adaptação no planejamento pedagógico. Destaca-se a necessidade de práticas adaptativas para manter a qualidade do ensino e a importância da colaboração entre docentes e instituições na superação dos desafios impostos pela pandemia. Os resultados evidenciam que professores com maior flexibilidade no planejamento conseguiram se adaptar melhor às mudanças, reforçando a relevância da inovação pedagógica no contexto educacional atual. Além disso, observa-se que a resiliência e a capacidade de adaptação dos docentes foram fundamentais para garantir a continuidade do ensino, demonstrando a necessidade de investimentos em formação continuada e desenvolvimento profissional. A experiência adquirida nesse período contribuiu para a consolidação de metodologias híbridas, ampliando as possibilidades de ensino e aprendizagem no futuro.
