Pottery contexts dated to the early – third quarter of the Vth century AD coming from Ilyich-1 settlement
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The article analyses ceramic contexts dated to the early-third quarter of the 5th century AD coming from level III.2 of Ilyich I settlement. The dating finds are represented by fragments of amphoras C Snp I, C Snp II-1, Böttger III.1, Böttger II.4, LRA 1 A, C IV E, LR 4 C 2, Zeest 96/97 and red-slip wares forms PRSW 1, PRSW 3, LRC 1 D/2, LRC 3 B, LRC 3 B/C, LRC 3 C, LRC 8. Chronologically they form three groups, which reflect different cycles stages of these types, recorded in the contexts of early third quarter of the 5th century AD. Amphoras C Snp I, Seest 96/97, C IV E and red slip wares forms PRSW 1, PRSW 3 completing their cycles come out of circulation. Amphoras C Snp II-1, Böttger III.1, Böttger II.4, LRA 1 A and red slip wares forms LRC 1 D/2, LRC 3 B, LRC 3 B/C, LRC 3 C were manufactured and actively used in early- third quarter of the 5th century AD. LR 4 C 2 amphoras and red slip ware form LRC 8 have just started to come into use. It should be noted residual pottery finds, dated from 4th ВС to 4th AD. Typical contexts formed in the early third quarter of the 5th century AD are considered in detail. The analysis of the contexts suggests active functioning of Ilyich-1 settlement in this pe riod, which is practically not presented on Ilyich fortress. This layer III.2 may be partially synchronized with the third stage of the last period of Tanais.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
