Les défis de mise en place de réseaux écologiques visant à faire face à la double crise du climat et de la biodiversité sont étroitement liés à la connectivité humaine. Cet article se penche sur la question de la gouvernance dans ces projets de connectivité écologique au Québec et propose une approche intégrée inspirée par des travaux scientifiques et une étude de cas : l’Initiative québécoise Corridors écologiques (IQCÉ). L’IQCÉ vise à accélérer la conservation de milieux naturels connectés par des corridors écologiques. Le modèle de gouvernance écosystémique développé dans le cadre de l’IQCÉ repose sur 2 piliers : le caractère multiniveau et la gouvernance adaptative. Ce modèle reconnaît la complexité des systèmes socioécologiques et cherche à l’intégrer dans la prise de décision. Il favorise la collaboration entre les acteurs locaux, provinciaux et nationaux, et encourage l’adaptabilité face à l’incertitude. À travers l’IQCÉ, ce modèle a permis de créer un mouvement collectif structuré au Québec, favorisant un sentiment d’appartenance et mobilisant de multiples acteurs de la société autour de la connectivité écologique.
