Abstract
Le service policier d’une MRC rurale québécoise a élaboré et implanté son propre programme en violence conjugale, intitulé MAINtenant ensemble dont l’objectif général est de contrer et de mieux répondre à la violence conjugale sur son vaste territoire. Une évaluation de l’implantation du programme a été réalisée après la première année, en partenariat avec l’Université du Québec en Outaouais. Le devis choisi est celui d’évaluation d’un cas adoptant une méthodologie mixte intégrée (majeure qualitative complétée avec données quantitatives) réalisée notamment par le biais d’observations non participantes et la conduction de cinq groupes de discussion regroupant les différentes parties prenantes du projet. Les résultats indiquent que, malgré certaines réticences initiales au changement des pratiques au sein du poste, le projet est maintenant généralement apprécié, voire une source de fierté. L’équipe spécialisée en violence conjugale, un important pilier du projet, effectue un travail de sensibilisation au poste, en se montrant disponible pour les questionnements des collègues et en les soutenant dans leurs interventions. Les principaux défis du projet résident pour leur part en la capacité à actualiser tous les volets du programme en raison des ressources limitées. Nous discuterons de ces résultats en termes de portée et de limites de ce type d’innovation sociale et proposerons quelques recommandations à cet effet.
