Les recherches des dernières décennies ont permis de mieux comprendre les actions complexes, les rôles et les processus menés par les designers. Ainsi, le présent article souhaite explorer une sélection de modèles représentant les processus cognitifs demandés par les projets de design. Les questions suivantes ont guidé cette exploration : Quelles connaissances permettent de mieux représenter les processus des designers ? Et, comment ces modèles peuvent-ils servir pour enrichir les formations en design dans le but d’aider les novices à développer des réflexes professionnels sur des bases solides ? Dans cette intention, nous débuterons par un survol d’une sélection de représentations du processus de design qui aident à mieux comprendre les actions et les mécanismes de développement des projets. Ce survol nous mènera à présenter un modèle du processus de design développé par une coauteure du présent article : Le modèle de la pratique coréflexive des designers. L’article se conclut sur une étude d’un cas de mise en pratique du modèle dans la formation au premier cycle en design lors d’un cours théorie-pratique.
